Lesson in a bought pattern.

Well, crap!

When the TT ladies came to CA, I bought their underthings pattern, because it had the French farthingale, which I knew I was going to be making. That it also came with the Spanish farthingale, and a small pad was nice, but not needed. I did this, so I wouldn't have to wade through making up a pattern for me to wear. Yes, it is a simple one, but one less step would be nice.

Well... after pickle juice (which hasn't affected the actual pattern any), runny instruction page, and ruined cover envelope, I finally actually open the pattern page itself... and found the Spanish farthingale all on one sheet... and no sign of any part of the French one.

So. It looks like I will have to draft and resize up the pattern piece to fit me, anyway.

So... lesson to be learned here... make sure when you buy a pattern, that you have all the pieces you need before you drive away. Especially since they are in the UK, and shipping for that extra page is not worth the hassle.

I don't know what system the TT ladies use, but if they're doing computer drafting they may be able to generate a PDF of the missing pattern pieces that you can get printed locally to you.

If that doesn't work out, and you need drafting help, you know who to call.

Thank you for the suggestion and offer. After looking at their base pattern in the book, I am going to try an idea I got after Robin Netherton's workshop... on how curves don't have to be as big as we think they do. I will see if it works or not.
